Name and address of the Data Protection Officer
Below, we provide information about the collection of personal data when you use our website. Personal data is any data that can be related to you personally, e.g. name, address, email addresses, user behaviour.
The controller pursuant to Art. 4(7) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for data processing on this website is Meiser Solar GmbH (see our legal notice). You can reach our Data Protection Officer at solar@meiser.de, adding “Data Protection Officer”.
When you contact us by email or via a contact form, the data you provide (your name, your email address and, if applicable, your address) will be stored by us in order to answer your questions or process your request. We delete the data arising in this context once storage is no longer necessary, or restrict processing if statutory retention obligations apply.
If we use commissioned service providers for individual functions of our offering or would like to use your data for advertising purposes, we will inform you in detail below about the respective processes. In doing so, we also state the defined criteria for the storage period.
Collection of general data and information
When you use the website for informational purposes only, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise transmit information to us, we only collect the personal data that your browser transmits to our server. If you wish to view our website, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display our website to you and to ensure stability and security (legal basis is Art. 6(1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR):
– IP address
– Date and time of the request
– Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
– Content of the request (specific page)
– Access status/HTTP status code
– Amount of data transferred in each case
– Website from which the request originates
– Browser
– Operating system and its interface
– Language and version of the browser software.
In addition to the data mentioned above, cookies are stored on your computer when you use our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard drive and assigned to the browser you use, and through which certain information is provided to the entity that sets the cookie (in this case, us). Cookies cannot execute programs or transmit viruses to your computer. They serve to make the website more user-friendly and effective overall.
Use of cookies:
a) This website uses the following types of cookies, the scope and function of which are explained below:
– Transient cookies (see b)
– Persistent cookies (see c).
b) Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. These include, in particular, session cookies. They store a so-called session ID, which allows various requests from your browser to be assigned to the same session. This allows your computer to be recognised when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close the browser.
c) Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period, which may vary depending on the cookie. You can delete cookies at any time in your browser’s security settings.
d) You can configure your browser settings according to your wishes and, for example, refuse the acceptance of third-party cookies or all cookies. Please note that you may then not be able to use all functions of this website.
Additional functions and offers on our website
In addition to using our website for informational purposes only, we offer various services that you can use if you are interested. This generally requires you to provide additional personal data, which we use to provide the respective service and for which the data processing principles mentioned above apply.
In some cases, we use external service providers to process your data. These have been carefully selected and commissioned by us, are bound by our instructions and are regularly monitored.
Furthermore, we may pass on your personal data to third parties if, for example, contract conclusions or similar services are offered by us jointly with partners. Further information on this will be provided when you enter your personal data or below in the description of the offer.
If our service providers or partners are based in a country outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we will inform you about the consequences of this circumstance in the description of the offer.
Cookies
Like many other websites, we also use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a web server to your hard drive. This automatically provides us with certain data such as IP address, browser used, operating system on your computer and your connection to the internet.
Cookies cannot be used to start programs or transmit viruses to a computer. Based on the information contained in cookies, we can make navigation easier for you and enable the correct display of our web pages.
Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.
Of course, you can generally view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are regularly set to accept cookies. You can disable the use of cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please use the help functions of your internet browser to find out how to change these settings. Please note that individual functions of our website may not work if you have disabled the use of cookies.
SSL encryption
To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use encryption methods that correspond to the current state of the art (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.
Newsletter
With your consent, you can subscribe to our newsletter, with which we inform you about our current interesting offers. The advertised goods and services are named in the declaration of consent.
To register for our newsletter, we use the so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that after you register, we will send an email to the email address you provided in which we ask you to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. If you do not confirm your registration within 24 hours, your information will be blocked and automatically deleted after one month. In addition, we store your IP addresses and the times of registration and confirmation. The purpose of this procedure is to be able to prove your registration and, if necessary, to clarify possible misuse of your personal data.
The only mandatory information for sending the newsletter is your email address. Providing additional data, marked separately, is voluntary and is used to address you personally. After your confirmation, we store your email address for the purpose of sending the newsletter. The legal basis is Art. 6(1) sentence 1 lit. a GDPR.
You can revoke your consent to receive the newsletter at any time and unsubscribe from the newsletter. You can declare the revocation by clicking the link provided in every newsletter email or by sending a message to the contact details provided in the legal notice.
Contact form
Due to legal requirements, we offer a quick electronic way to contact our company via email or contact form on our website. If a data subject contacts the controller by email or via a contact form, the personal data transmitted by the data subject will be stored automatically. Such personal data transmitted voluntarily by a data subject to the controller will be stored for the purpose of processing or contacting the data subject. This personal data will not be passed on to third parties.
Deletion or blocking of data
We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data minimisation. We therefore store your personal data only for as long as is necessary to achieve the storage purposes stated here. After the respective purpose no longer applies or these periods expire, the corresponding data is routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with statutory provisions.
Your rights to information, rectification, restriction, deletion and objection
You have the following rights vis-à-vis us with regard to your personal data:
– Right of access,
– Right to rectification or erasure,
– Right to restriction of processing,
– Right to object to processing,
– Right to data portability.
If you have given consent to the processing of your data, you can revoke it at any time. Such a revocation affects the lawfulness of the processing of your personal data after you have declared it to us.
Insofar as we base the processing of your personal data on a balancing of interests, you may object to the processing. This is the case if the processing is not necessary, in particular, for the performance of a contract with you, as we describe in each case in the following description of the functions. When exercising such an objection, we ask you to explain the reasons why we should not process your personal data as carried out by us. In the event of your justified objection, we will examine the situation and will either stop or adjust the data processing or show you our compelling legitimate grounds on the basis of which we continue the processing.
Of course, you can object at any time to the processing of your personal data for advertising and data analysis purposes. You can inform us of your objection to advertising using the following contact details:
Meiser Solar GmbH
Prof.-Pirlet-Straße 35
D-66679 Losheim
Phone: +49 (0) 6887 – 9590 190
Email: solar@meiser.de
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your personal data.
Data protection for applications and in the application process
The controller collects and processes applicants’ personal data for the purpose of handling the application process. Processing may also take place electronically. This is particularly the case if an applicant submits relevant application documents to the controller electronically, for example by email or via a web form on the website. If the controller concludes an employment contract with an applicant, the transmitted data will be stored for the purpose of handling the employment relationship in compliance with statutory provisions. If the controller does not conclude an employment contract with the applicant, the application documents will be automatically deleted two months after notification of the rejection decision, provided that no other legitimate interests of the controller oppose deletion. Other legitimate interests in this sense include, for example, an obligation to provide evidence in proceedings under the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG).
WPML (Multilingualism)
On our website, we use the ‘WPML’ plugin from OnTheGoSystems Ltd. to provide content in several languages.
WPML sets a technically necessary cookie (“wp-wpml_current_language”) which stores the language version of the website selected by the visitor. This ensures that the website is displayed in the selected language when further pages are viewed.
The cookie contains only information about the selected language and is used solely to ensure the website functions properly. It is not processed for analytical, marketing or tracking purposes.
The legal basis for the processing is Section 25(2)(2) of the TDDDG or Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, as the cookie is technically necessary for providing the language function requested by the user.
Storage period:
The cookie is stored for a maximum of one day and is then automatically deleted.
Further information on the cookies used by WPML can be found at: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/browser-cookies-stored-wpml/
Use of social media plug-ins
We currently use the following social media plug-ins: Facebook, Xing, LinkedIn, Google Maps. We use the so-called two-click solution. This means that when you visit our site, no personal data is initially passed on to the providers of the plug-ins. You can recognise the provider of the plug-in by the marking on the box via its initial letter or the logo. We give you the option to communicate directly with the provider of the plug-in via the button. Only if you click on the marked field and thereby activate it does the plug-in provider receive the information that you have accessed the corresponding website of our online offering. In addition, the data mentioned under “Collection of general data and information” in this policy is transmitted. In the case of Facebook and Xing, according to the respective providers, the IP address is anonymised immediately after collection in Germany. By activating the plug-in, personal data is therefore transmitted from you to the respective plug-in provider and stored there (for US providers, in the USA). Since the plug-in provider collects data in particular via cookies, we recommend that you delete all cookies via your browser’s security settings before clicking on the greyed-out box.
We have no influence on the data collected and the data processing operations, nor are we aware of the full scope of data collection, the purposes of processing, or the storage periods. We also have no information regarding the deletion of the collected data by the plug-in provider.
The plug-in provider stores the data collected about you as user profiles and uses it for purposes of advertising, market research and/or demand-oriented design of its website. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular (also for users who are not logged in) to display demand-oriented advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles; to exercise this right, you must contact the respective plug-in provider. Via the plug-ins, we offer you the opportunity to interact with the social networks and other users, so that we can improve our offering and make it more interesting for you as a user.
Data is transferred regardless of whether you have an account with the plug-in provider and are logged in there. If you are logged in to the plug-in provider, the data collected by us will be directly assigned to your existing account with the plug-in provider. If you press the activated button and, for example, link the page, the plug-in provider also stores this information in your user account and shares it publicly with your contacts. We recommend that you log out regularly after using a social network, but especially before activating the button, as this allows you to avoid being associated with your profile at the plug-in provider.
Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and its processing by the plug-in provider can be found in the data protection policies of these providers communicated below. There you will also find further information about your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy.

Embedding YouTube videos
We have embedded YouTube videos in our online offering that are stored at http://www.YouTube.com and can be played directly from our website. These are all embedded in “enhanced privacy mode”, i.e. no data about you as a user is transmitted to YouTube if you do not play the videos. Only when you play the videos will the data mentioned in para. 2 be transmitted. We have no influence on this data transmission.
The legal basis for embedding YouTube videos is Art. 6(1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.
By visiting the website, YouTube receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding subpage of our website. In addition, the data mentioned under § 3 of this policy is transmitted. This occurs regardless of whether YouTube provides a user account through which you are logged in, or whether no user account exists. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be directly assigned to your account. If you do not want your profile to be associated with YouTube, you must log out before activating the button. YouTube stores your data as user profiles and uses it for purposes of advertising, market research and/or demand-oriented design of its website. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular (even for users who are not logged in) to provide demand-oriented advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles; to exercise this right, you must contact YouTube.
Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and its processing can be found in Google’s data protection policies, cf. § 9 para. 5.
Use of Vimeo
This website uses plug-ins from the video portal Vimeo, operated by Vimeo Inc., 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA. Vimeo is used in order to embed videos on our website in an appealing and user-friendly way. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1) sentence 1 lit. f GDPR.
When you access a page that contains a Vimeo video, a connection to Vimeo’s servers is established. In doing so, the Vimeo server is informed which of our pages you have visited. Vimeo may also store cookies on your device or use similar recognition technologies (e.g. device fingerprinting) to collect information about user behaviour. If you are logged in to your Vimeo account, you enable Vimeo to associate your browsing behaviour directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your Vimeo account before visiting our website.
Vimeo may also transfer data to servers in the USA. We point out that there is currently no adequacy decision by the EU Commission for the USA. However, Vimeo assures that it will provide appropriate safeguards in accordance with Art. 46 GDPR.
Further information on the handling of user data and data protection at Vimeo can be found in the provider’s privacy policy at:
https://vimeo.com/privacy
OpenStreetMap
We embed maps from the OpenStreetMap service (https://www.openstreetmap.org), which are provided by the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF) on the basis of the Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL). To the best of our knowledge, your data is used by OpenStreetMap exclusively for the purpose of displaying the map functions and temporarily storing the selected settings. This data may include in particular:
• IP address for delivering the data; storage in logs is anonymised,
• Browser and device type,
• Operating system,
• the fact that you access content from OpenStreetMap from this website, and
• Date and time of the request.
OpenStreetMap is used for the purpose of making it easy to find the locations specified by us on the website.
